Pastor Ken 16
Lead Pastor, Ken Hunn  Contact Ken:

Ken Hunn has served our congregation as Lead Pastor since August 2015. He previously served as Executive Director of the Brethren Church for twelve years, giving visionary leadership to Brethren congregations here in the United States and connecting our churches to Global Partners in ten countries worldwide. Ken is a northern Indiana native and is happy to be back in this area to serve at Jefferson Community Church. He is also excited to be part of a church family that is optimistic about the future, and joining together to help our community thrive. Ken and his wife Nancy are the proud parents of three children and three grandchildren as well. They enjoy antiquing, traveling, and spending time at the lake.

Thanks so much for taking time to view our ministry! On this site you’ll find descriptions of many opportunities throughout the week for you and your family. Here at Jefferson Community Church we really are learning more and more what it means to be “Reaching Up. Reaching Out.” We find in life, and the Bible affirms that we really do need one another and we need the Lord. It would be our honor to meet you and join with you in seeking God’s direction for our lives. Please accept my invitation to join us sometime in any one of our activities and to join us in worship and learning on Sunday mornings. Our early worship time features a style familiar to many if you have grown up in the church. We also have discipleship classes for every age at 9:30 a.m. Our second worship service features a style with a more contemporary feel. Regardless of where you are in your journey with Christ, we welcome you to come and discover along with us the purpose and joy that only He can give!
Associate Pastor, Billy Hesketh  Contact Billy:
Billy Hesketh joined the staff at JCC in December of 2018. He comes with over 20 years of experience as a lead pastor as well as having previously served on the staff at JCC in the early 1990’s. Billy provides oversight and support to all of our Children’s Ministries including the Nursery, Sunday School Grades K-5, Children’s Worship, Wednesday Night Trekkers, Youth, LYNC and the JCC Preschool. He also works with the Pastoral Staff in sharing leadership and administrative oversight for ministries at JCC. His passion is discipleship and watching lives being transformed by the presence of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit. Billy is married to Norene and they are the proud parents of 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren.
Did you know that there are 8,760 hours in a year and the average parent has access to approximately 3,000 of them, and the average church has access to approximately 50, to provide influence in a child’s life? How we best use these hours are critical. I believe that children are not the church of tomorrow but rather they are the church of today that will be the foundation of tomorrows church! I also believe that there is no better partnership than the church with the home as we work together to introduce children to Jesus and provide them with the tools necessary to grow and mature in their faith. At JCC we use a variety of educational tools and experiences, and provide parents with tools as well, to walk with our children on their faith journey. We look forward to the opportunity to speak into the life of your child and thank you for allowing us the privilege of doing so.
Vickie 16
Minister of Council and Care, Vickie Oldenburg
Contact Vickie:
Vickie Oldenburg has been serving Jefferson Community Church since 1996. She began working with Inner Healing/Recovery Ministry in 2000. She leads recovery groups, facilitates one-on-one inner healing sessions and visits the sick and home bound. She and her husband, Ron, have been married over 40 years and have 2 grown children and five beautiful grandchildren! Vickie has been trained in Elijah House prayer ministry (John & Paula Sandford); Basic and Advanced Theophostics (Ed Smith); Formational Prayer (Dr. Terry Wardle); SALTS (Surviors of Abuse Leadership Training Seminar); the Wounded Heart (Dr. Dan Allender) and she is a certified Spiritual Director.

Vickie shares about her passion for ministry:

“It is my passion and one of the great loves of my life to enter the stories of those who were created in God’s image (that’s all of us!) and find out why – we are not living as he created us to live; with freedom, hope, joy, peace… Life on this earth can be painful, sad, disappointing and even depressing! Look at the pain and darkness that Jesus went through with rejection and ultimate death. What amazes me and gives me hope is that the pain, darkness and death that Jesus went through – led to his glory; led to who He really is; Led to his resurrection (He Is Alive Again!) and our salvation! Can God use the painful, dark places in our lives to bring us into who we really are in Him? In John 10:10 Jesus says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they might have life and have it to the full.” Where is this “full life” that Jesus talks about, why aren’t we living it? I believe that in our pain, discomfort, darkness, grief, loss – Jesus is there, knocking on the door – asking if He can come there. I believe He longs to show us who we really are and make us Alive Again!”
